Feeling the heat of increased competition and losing marketshare, Hindustan Unilever Limited has come up with a new plan to counter the rivals. The leading FMCG company has deployed 15 teams in all its departments who will work on increasing sales and working on innovation. This is done in order to be more aggressive in marketing and customer acquisition.
Each of these teams have been given name as CCBT (Country Category Business Teams). The teams have representatives from all the segments within the company, including from R&D, Sales and Finance.
In his statement to ET, HUL’s Managing director Sanjay Mehta stated that the new initiative will unleash huge capacity. The CCBT heads are young professionals who are capable of coming out with innovating and cutting-edge business plans to grow sales many fold. He also claimed that the strategy of countering competitors helped in sales growth of over 90% of HUL’s product in last few months.
