Adidas has been rigorously its design and supply chain resources for the strategic production of face masks to meet the surging demand of the essential commodity.

Face masks have become the main product for every retailer in the new normal, German sportswear brand – Adidas becomes the next to join the league. On Monday, the brand launched its two-layered face masks made of breathable, recycled fabric for the people to help them stay safe from the deadly virus.

Priced at Rs.699 for a pack of three, the masks are available in two variants Adidas performance and Adidas Originals Blue. Its features include prime green fabric, which is high performance recycled fabric free of virgin plastic,  two-layer fabric with stretchable ear straps, and are washable. Both types of face masks will be available in two sizes, small and large, across 75 cities including at the brand’s e-commerce platform.

“As lockdown restrictions continue to ease, people need increased protection while venturing out. The product is designed to help prevent the spread of viruses and germs through droplet transmission,” said Manish Sapra, senior marketing director, Adidas India.

While Wildcraft became one of the first companies to foray into this segment, multiple brands like Allen Solly, Peter England, Zodiac Shirts, and Fabindia are following suit. Another German sportswear brand Puma has also introduced its face masks. The masks are being designed in various prints and colors with the brand’s logos embedded on it.
