At the time when everyone is coming together to fight the battle against the deadly coronavirus disease and are indulging in various activities to help the nation, Mumbai based fashion designer Masaba Gupta recently joins the league.

Bollywood’s favorite designer Masaba Gupta took to her Instagram to announce the launch of her initiative of producing non-surgical face masks fro the country, which she proudly names as Maskaba, which is self-explanatory to describe the designers’ move during these tough times.

The designer wrote on her post “Changing gears for some time In the wake of the current pandemic and lockdown across the country, all operations at the House of Masaba came to a halt. While the damage that this will do is immeasurable at this point, my hope is to keep my chin up by doing my bit to help my country instead-in this time.” “We have started the production of non-surgical masks for donation at a production facility keeping all hygiene and safety standards in mind. These masks are washable and reusable.” She added.

Elaborating on the manufacturing of the mask, Masaba explained that “The Masks are being made from fabric that was meant for garments, at one of our production vendors. The team is small- with 3 workers who live at this same facility in quarantine and we are making sure the workers are being paid, and are taken care of.”

The current situation of the coronavirus pandemic on the country is witnessing a rising curve with more than 12000 cases and 420 deaths and is said to jeopardize the economy if it continues in the same trajectory.
