Tevero becomes first Indian company to launch textile technology proven against SARS-CoV-2

Tevero is a textile brand that positions itself at the confluence of fashion & science. Under their Intelli-Science® range of fabrics, they offer unique finished textiles in sync with the advancement of the times. Their aim is to merge European flamboyance, the vibrancy of India & technology in a way that produces a fabric collection that speaks of fashion as well as modernity.

COVID-19 has put additional responsibility on the shoulders of many companies around the globe. They must take strategic steps to ensure safety of people with the power and resources they possess. With the new normal of today where everyone is seeking protection from various bacteria and viruses, there is a growing need for anti-viral products like face masks, gloves, and even clothes.

Teveroa textile company has pioneered its way to launch products with finished with textile technology proven against SARS-CoV-2. The company has been working with laboratories, companies, and vendors to come up with something that can provide customers the protection they need. Using the technology of the Swiss textile innovation leader-HeiQ, they have been able to launch safe and hygienic face masks, gloves, and clothing fabrics. Under laboratory settings, it has been shown to bring down the viral activity of the SARS-CoV-2 virus by 99.99% within 30 minutes on the treated fabric submitted by them. Their textile technology – HeiQ Viroblock NPJ03 – is safe & non-toxic.

The products are available under the collection “Virus Sheild.” Tevero’s masks consist of two layers of soft-knitted cotton to provide comfort and breathability. They further apply the anti-viral treatment on both layers, increasing protection for the wearer. In between the two layers is a filter composed of a melt-blown fabric that offers more than 99.5% bacterial filtration efficiency (> 3μm).

“What we all need is protective accessories that not only reduce the ability of the virus to pass through but also lower cross-contamination risk. If a fabric deactivates a virus that comes into contact with it, it becomes an important line of protection in our fight against this pandemic. We intend to make these masks, gloves & fashion fabrics available to all leading retailers & garmenters so that it is made more accessible in these difficult times.” says Kruti Adnani, a representative of the brand.

The masks will be accessible to people in 7 days followed by gloves and shirting fabrics. The company plans to sell the products all over Indian and also is thinking of collaborating with medical stores and Amazon.
