Arvind Kejriwal laid foundations of 2 flyovers: contributing to ‘Nation building’ he said

Delhi flyover inauguration by Arvind Kejriwal

Aam Aadmi Party’s National convener and Delhi CM, on Sunday, laid the foundation of 2 flyovers in ‘Shahshtri park’ and ‘Seelampur’ in northeast Delhi respectively. He asserted that his government is contributing to ‘Nation building’ by constructing flyovers, roads, mohalla clinics and schools in the national capital.

While criticising the BJP he said, BJP had ‘ruined’ the country with decisive politics, demonetisation, poor implementation of Goods and Service Tax, Rafale scam and sealing of shops in Delhi.

Kejriwal said, “We are constructing 21000 new classrooms in government schools, setting up mohalla clinic, have made electricity cheaper and provided water for 400 colonies in the last 4 years. This is real nation building”

He further said, “Neither Modi nor Rahul can become PM  this time”. He said that in order to stop the “Modi-Shah” duo people must vote Aam Aadmi Party.

He further said, “Vote for a party that can defeat BJP. In Bengal Mamata Banerjee’s Party can defeat BJP, in UP it is the SP-BSP combine and in Tamil Nadu DMK. Similarly in Delhi  only AAP can defeat BJP. If you vote for Congress, BJP will win.”

The 2 flyovers will be built at a cost of Rs.303 crore. The project is likely to complete in 18 months and would be ready by August 2020. It is going to provide a signal-free journey between Kashmere Gate ISBT and Apsara border near Seemapuri.

The Delhi Government gave the project a green light in July 2018.

The project also includes the widening of roads which would help decongest the crossing.

The project is likely to reduce travel time by 13,802 man hours per day.

An official said, “They will also reduce fuel consumption by 2625 litres. The benefit will overpass the cost of the project in four years.”

The Shastri Park flyover and the other one at Seelampur will have a length of 700m and 1200 m respectively.
