The Kolkata Police Commissioner Rajeev Kumar will be questioned in Shillong today, by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The venue of interrogation is set by the Supreme Court of India, considering ‘Shillong’ to be a neutral ground for enquiry.
Rajeev Kumar, has on him the allegation of destroying evidence related to Saradha Chit Fund Cases, which involves the names of several top TMC leaders.The names of Mukul Roy and Kailash Vijay Wargi who are now in BJP also came into light. Assam governments’s Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma is also allegedly accused to be in connection with the case that effected not only West Bengal but Jharkhand, Bihar, Assam too. Rajeev Kumar was leading the SIT which investigated the matter.
According to sources, Rajeev Kumar will be questioned in two locations ,one in the CBI headquarters there and the other location is undisclosed. A CBI team already reached Shillong ,Rajeev Kumar accompanied by three top-ranking officials of the Kolkata Police is also in a top hotel of the city.
