Old Delhi and New Delhi railway stations are about to go under major renovations. The renovations may start within next few months. Passengers boarding train from here may get some major conveniences now.
According to a report by Times of India, budget has been sanctioned for the renovation of the stations.
Both the stations will get state-of-art facilities including escalators and improved platforms.
Few days back, railway minister Piyush Goyal shared a video which displayed newly renovated
New Delhi Railway station.

The video showed wall painted with beautiful art and paintings, highly convenient waiting rooms, better food services, and newly installed lifts and escalators.
In addition to these, solar panels are installed which will meet energy requirements of station. A number of LCD lights are installed at the venue which will help ultimately in saving power.
Total cost for New Delhi Railway station is INR 8.5 lakh, while for Old Delhi station total cost is INR 8 lakh.
The National Rail Museum is also likely to go through renovations soon, which would include the upkeep and maintenance of Museum.
It is also to be noted that in Railway Budget 2019, capital expenditure of Rs 1,58,658 crore was allotted for the national transporter. This is the highest ever for the Indian Railways.
Piyush Goyal has also instructed railway officials to complete the redevelopment work of about 68 railway stations by the end of February, which include railway station of Ayodhya, Varanasi and Agra.
