Rajasthan University, Jaipur has decided to postpone it’s examination starting from 13th February 2019, due to gujjar protest regarding reservation.
The registrar at university Kesar lal meena said,
The students at the examination centers in Mahua and Dausa might have a problem as due to the ongoing protest, roads are jammed and section 144 is enforced in many districts of the state. We dont want to take any risks, so we decided to postpone the examination. Further decision will be taken when situation become under control.
Around 1 lakh 42 thousand students will be writing university examination and now after the exam cancellation, students will have to wait for further order.
Today, on 13 february, 1st year Arts students were supposed to write general english exam, second year had their history-1 exam and final year students were supposed to write political science exam.
The gujjar protest is going on in many districts of Rajasthan state. The gujjar community is asking for 5 per cent reservations and government is trying hard to find a solution.
Chief minister of state Ashok Gehlot had recently said that it’s not possible right now for state govt to give reservations as 50 per cent limit for the reservation quota is already over.
Now, gehlot said, that the gujjar community has to speak to the central government regarding their demands.
