WBBSE madhyamik paper started on Tuesday with the first language (Bengali), which has been allegedly leaked on Tuesday at Ratua Constituency Malda. The question paper started circulating on social media, when a senior official got a message of the question paper on his whatsaap number.
The question paper resembled one page of the original Bengali paper. The board filed the complaint against unknown person at Bidhannagar police commissionaire cyber crime cell after the senior official reported the leak of the paper to the board.
“We lodged the police complaint as we want to find out who had clicked the photo and forwarded the same among others to create mischief,” WBBSE President Kalyanmoy Ganguly said.
On the reports of the purported image of Bengali first paper question paper circulated on Whatsapp, Ganguly said “The images were taken and forwarded on Whatsapp after the exams began. By that time candidates were already writing their papers inside the centre. So there has been no leak.”
He declared that there was no question of holding the first paper of Bengali again.
“We do not have report of any question paper leak and the first day examinations passed off smoothly everywhere in the state, including the hills,” the board president said, as reported by news agency PTI.
10,66 lakh students appeared for the 10th examination that started on Tuesday 12, 2019. The exam will conclude on 22nd February, 2019.
Headmaster of Subhashnagar High School was caught last year for allegedly leaking the question paper during the board examination. The headmaster was relived from the duty after the board filed a complaint.
