Ahead of the Lok Sabha polls The Enforcement Directorate (ED) seized assets worth ₹1.46 crore belonging to Harish Gahlot brother of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Minister Kailash Gahlot under the section 37A of Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA).
Kailash Gahlot is a cabinet minister in Delhi government. He is the Delhi Transport Minister.
The Enforcement Directorate has seized a flat in Vasant Kunj that belongs to the AAP minister and a piece of land in Chauma Village in Haryana for holding foreign assets equivalent to the same value in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The Income Tax Department in October 2018 raided 16 locations belonging to the Delhi AAP minister Kailash Gahlot and recovered ₹35 lakhs and a dossier of Benami properties.
