Lok Sabha Elections : Congress provides proof of farm loan waivers to Shivraj Singh Chauhan in Madhya Pradesh

Madhya Pradesh chief minister and Congress leader Kamal Nath on Tuesday said that a list of 21 lakh farmers whose loans husband waste has been handed to former Chief Minister and BJP leader Shivraj Singh Chauhan who alleged Congress of supporting farmers after coming to power.

Addressing a press conference in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, Kamal Nath also said that he was informed that former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has been spreading a lie regarding the farm loan waiver by Congress government. He added, “a delegation led by Suresh Pachouri today handed Shivraj Singh Chauhan a list of 21 lakh farmers whose loan have been waived off.”

Taking a jibe at Chauhan, Kamal Nath said that information was available on Agricultural Departments Portal, however, Shivraj Singh Chouhan does not know how to access the portal and thus we provided the list for his convenience.

Kamal Nath also added that Shivraj Singh Chauhan has been chief minister for 10 years and thus this kind of speech is not expected by him as he is aware of the processes involved in any government’s decision.

In the midst of Lok Sabha elections, Shivraj Singh Chauhan targeted Congress government in Madhya Pradesh and said that Congress government promise to waive farm loans within 10 days of forming the government. He said that ” I appeal to the state government and Chief Minister that they should satisfy the farmers and fulfill the promises that they made before coming to power.”

While addressing the public for the Madhya Pradesh assembly elections in 2018 Congress president Rahul Gandhi had promised to waive the farm loans within 10 days of form the government in the state.

The 29 Lok Sabha constituencies in Madhya Pradesh will witness the elections in four phases out of which two phases have already gone to polls on April 29 and May 6. The remaining constituencies will go to polls on May 12 and May 19.
