Congress Party’s key strategist, Sam Pitroda made statements including the Samajwadi Party (SP) and the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) saying that the only motive of the parties right now is to defeat the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) and removing Prime Minister Narendra Modi from the post.
Sam Pitroda said that the gathbandhan or the alliance of opposition parties will come out together at the “right time.” His statements came a day after the Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav and Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati hit at Congress and urged the voters to not vote for Congress.
Pitroda claimed that the common objective of all the opposition parties is to oust Narendra Modi government even if that will include a compromise on the number of seats.
When he was asked about how the compromise will take place and how the contradictions will be resolved among the opposition parties that are at rage with one other, Sam Pitroda said that he doesn’t see any problem. He said that the opposition parties will come together at the right time. He also added, “All of the opposition parties want democracy, inclusion, and peace. Only through peace, we will have prosperity. Only if peace prevails, we can create jobs.”
Hitting at the Modi government for diving the people on the basis of religion, Sam Pirtroda said that we cannot create jobs by dividing people. He said that he has confidence in the leadership of the members of the gathbandhan. “No matter what comes today, when the time will need, all the opposition parties will come together and make the right decision.”
Recently Congress has received flak from Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party after the Congress chief Rahul Gandhi and his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra commented on wanting to help the gathbandhan in Uttar Pradesh.
Priyanka Gandhi said that Congress has fielded some Lok Sabha candidates in Uttar Pradesh to cut the share of BJP. In a similar statement, Rahul Gandhi also mentioned his contribution at any cost to the gathbandhan in order to defeat BJP.
However, Samajwadi party chief Akhilesh Yadav hit out Congress President and said, “I cannot believe in these types of statements that Congress is making.” Congress has not fielded weak candidates anywhere. People are not with Congress this time and this is why Congress is making excuses.
To add to this Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati also hit out at Congress and urged the voters that vote cast in favor of Congress would amount to waste.
Recently Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a rally in Mumbai claimed that Congress was fighting on the least number of seats ever in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections to which Sam Pitroda said that this is not true. Congress is winning.
