Union Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Smriti Irani hit the Congress president Rahul Gandhi over his open letter that he shared on Facebook to the people of Amethi urging the voters to vote in the favor of Congress.
Rahul Gandhi shared an open letter written in Hindi to his “Amethi Parivar.” In his letter, Rahul Gandhi appeals to the voters of Amethi parliamentary constituency to re-elect him in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections. He promised to the people of Amethi that he will initiate the development works that are blocked by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and said that the strength of Amethi lies in simplicity, honesty, and integrity.
Responding to the open letter of Rahul Gandhi Union Minister Smriti Irani said that his letter is evidence of the undue importance to the people of Amethi. She said that the Congress President had never given importance to the people of Amethi and not visited panchayats located in the constituency.
Targeting the anti-Hindu slogan Smriti Irani also said that Rahul anti-Hindu face has been exposed. She accused Congress of glorifying Yasin Malik who killed Kashmiri Pandits. Taking the religious jibes at Rahul Gandhi, Smriti Irani said that Rahul Gandhi should tell the people of Amethi and the entire country the reason for his respect towards Hindus.
Rahul Gandhi mentioned in the letter that the entire Amethi standing against the 5 years government rule of Narendra Modi led-Bharatiya Janata Party and the government has built the factories of lies in 5 years.
In the open letter, Rahul Gandhi also mentioned that Amethi is the source of strength for him. He thanked the people of Amethi for supporting him.
Amethi (Uttar Pradesh) has been a bastion of Congress since 1964. Rahul Gandhi as represented Amethi 2004. Rahul Gandhi is fighting two constituency seats. In Amethi is fighting against Smriti Irani and in Wayanad, he is fighting against BJP’s ally Bharat Dharma Jana Sena’s Thushar Vellapally.
Amethi will go to polls in the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha elections on May 6. The results will be announced on May 23.
