Walmart owned Flipkart has taken retail store chain- Vishal Mega Mart on board for the delivery of essential items in 26 cities which includes Delhi-NCR, Kolkata, Bengaluru. The partnership will benefit the consumers, as they will now be able to order from any of the 365 stores of the chain, and Flipkart will have them delivered at their doorsteps.
Vishal Mega Mart’s store has been created on Flipkart’s platform and the customers can order a variety of essential items including wheat, flour, rice, oil, beverages, and other private labels of the retail chain.
The initiative comes with a motive to encourage people to stay at home and offer convenience to them. Currently the service is available in 26 cities which include Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Delhi-NCR, Patna, Guwahati, Amritsar, Jalandhar, Jaipur, and Bareilly. However, in the coming four weeks this will further be extended to 240 cities.
“The products will be available as per the Government guidelines across all zones. Once a consumer places an order through the Flipkart app, the delivery executives or Wishmasters will collect the products from the nearest Vishal store and deliver it at the customer’s doorstep safely,” it added.
