Flipkart’s group head of fashion Rishi Vasudev resigned on Thursday. Vasudev contributed to the development of Flipkart as well as Myntra.

Speaking about Vasudev’s decision, the company stated that he is leaving Flipkart to pursue opportunities outside the company. Reportedly, Vasudev will work for the company until March 2020 as the company looks for a replacement to head the e-commerce.

“He has played a key role in building and nurturing the fashion category at Flipkart over the past five years, and more recently, has led the fashion business across both Flipkart and Myntra, driving synergies across the group,” the company added.

The e-commerce has seen a decent number of exits in the recent past. Vasudev is the third top executive in the line to quit after former CFO Dipanjan Basu and former Myntra CEO Ananth Narayanan.

According to the Business Standard Bureau, a close source to the firm said, “Such exits happen from time to time. One should not read too much into it. Vasudev has done really well of the company and has been there for long. After long stints people do think of pursuing other career moves. Flipkart now has a robust and strong top level management.”
